Fáilte Ireland’s student careers website www.picktourism.ietoday launched a new tourism video clip competition for all current 3rd level and further education students. The ‘National Tourism Video Clip Competition’ is calling for original and creative video clips on any aspect of Irish tourism from visitor attractions to catering to hotel services. Entrants are invited to submit a short video clip, maximum of two minutes in length, on their view of Irish tourism.
It is a great chance for students, whether a budding videographer or not, to win a cash prize and some valuable experience. The lucky winner will receive €2000 as well as an extra €1000 for their college or institution. There will also be cash prizes for second and third place. Fáilte Ireland is promoting the competition to encourage second level students to think about the tourism sector as a possible career destination.
The final date for submissions is Friday 26th of November at 5pm – further details can be found atwww.picktourism.ie
Picktourism.ie is designed specifically for second level students, to provide an insight into the tourism industry and the range of interesting and exciting tourism careers and courses available.
Speaking about the website, Sean O’Malley from Fáilte Ireland said –
“We developed Picktourism.ie to raise awareness of the variety of roles available in tourism and inform students on why they should pick tourism as a career. The website provides information on the various routes to qualification, including the ‘Earn and Learn’ programmes and is designed to encourage second level students to think about the tourism sector as a possible career destination.”
