With scaled packages of up to 24 programmes Life on Media are certainly raising the bar on Andy Warhol’s 15 minutes of fame! I mentioned before that I learn something new everyday in my job in the IIA. Mostly it is work related but sometimes it’s random facts like the fact that the copper dome on the Catholic church in Rathmines was originally meant for a church in St. Petersburg. This is interesting to me because I’m originally from Rathmines but also because I read it on Dublinbynumbers.com who are our newest members. Dublinbynumbers is a guide and directory for the Dublin region. It can be used to search for businesses, clubs and services or find out where to visit or what is happening in your area. The website also provides information on events in the city and a profile of local communities and neighbourhoods.
“the business has grown to offer an orbital marketing approach which includes: design, branding, direct response promotions, direct mail, TV, radio, press, online and digital. DMA’s focus is always on client results and it is passionate about helping clients get the results they need.”
They’re working on a new site at the moment which I am sure we will hear all about when they launch. You can still find out lots about them and view their creative work in their gallery through a link to their old site.

Another company who joined the IIA in August are Results International who tell us that they are the leading global Mergers & Acquisitions firm specialising in the marketing, media and digital space. They are no slackers when it comes to making the most of their IIA membership. They have already invited IIA members to participate in a survey about digital advertising. The aim of their survey is to assess the current attitudes of Irish companies to digital advertising across time and between sectors, and to elicit the attitudes of key executives in Ireland towards the growth of the digital marketing. The survey runs until 10th September so there is still time to contribute. And if you need an incentive to take part all participants will get a free, advance copy of the survery findings. As a self-confessed research junkie I think that is incentive enough! Take the survey now.
For those of you who need more incentive it’s very easy to meet Results International Group for coffee with their “Meet for Coffee” navigation menu item on their site. A nice touch!
Today I have learnt the word telematics from one of the IIA’s newest members, Celtrak. Celtrak offer a telematics-based Operations Management Solutions for Companies with a mobile workforce. Founded in 2000, they are based in Galway. August was a busy month for Celtrak: not only did they join the IIA but they also featured in not one but two articles in national newspapers about how the hi-tech solutions that Celtrak offer are helping business tackle rising fuel costs.
