Daft.ie Busiest website in Ireland

16th June 2008, Daft.ie, Ireland's largest property website, has experienced traffic growth of over 40% in the last 12 months according to the independent Industry owned auditing body ABCe. The latest audited figures show that Daft.ie delivered over 75 million Page Impressions to 974,595 Unique User/ Browsers in April 2008. This sets Daft.ie significantly ahead of its competition in the online property sector and is now in top position in terms of traffic to Irish websites.

Commenting on the figures, Anne Marie Boyhan, Marketing Manager at Daft.ie said, "Growth has been strong across all demographics in the last year, but has been particularly visible amongst females aged 25-45. We seem to be attracting a whole new female audience who are coming to Daft not necessarily to buy property, but to browse photographs for interiors ideas and to keep an eye on house prices in their area. With over one million photos online of Irish houses in every city, town and village in Ireland, Daft.ie is proving to be a valuable resource for those people who are currently renovating or thinking of renovating their homes."

According to Ronan Lyons, Economist with Daft.ie, these figures show that there is still an intense interest in the property market in Ireland "The fact that the amount of people visiting Daft.ie in the last 12 months has increased at a time when the number of people buying houses has decreased indicates that there are a still lot of people sitting on the fence. The ABCe figures show that there are buyers out there, but they are keeping a very close eye on prices and it may take further price reductions to entice them back into the market".

Richard Foan, Managing Director of ABCe comments: “It is highly encouraging that Daft.ie continues to deliver both comparability and transparency by committing to having its site traffic figures independently verified to industry agreed standards.  ABCe audited figures continue to provide the online media industry with an important tool to support media buyers and advertisers in their buying decisions, and for the market as a whole to demonstrate accountability of spend online.”
