Using the Internet for Profit and Political Gain

"Using the Internet for Profit and Political Gain”
Free X-factor style free business event

Tues, 19 Jan 8.00-9.30am

Burlington Hotel, Dublin 4.

It’s goodbye to yawn, yawn power breakfasts where business owners drone on about ‘added value’ and hello to a fun, fast way of learning new stuff and networking.

Two internet marketing companies: RingJohn (search engine marketing specialists) and theWordClinic.com (online marketing specialists) are sponsoring a free, fun event. You will even get a bacon buttie and cup of tea!

The event is a speaker competition. It will be in X-Factor style with a panel of industry experts and each of the three speakers (the two sponsors and Google) will present one aspect of internet marketing.
The audience text in who they want to win.

The speaker slot is strictly 15 minutes (votes will be lost if speakers go over).
And should there be a tie break? Well the panel will decide...

The audience will be asked to judge the presentations on three criteria:
Is it fun? Is it accessible? Is it interesting?

How people use the Internet is constantly evolving. Small companies, global brands and even politicians can benefit from using this medium. This event highlights some examples of how the web has been used both commercially and as a tool of political persuasion.

More detail on the presentations:

“Commercial Gain via the Web”

Claire Walsh, Online Sales & Operations Manager UK&IE - www.Google.com

Claire will show an advertising video - the popularity of which took even the video producers by surprise.  They expected 10,000 views on Youtube– it got 20,000,000.  She will give pointers on how to make the most of the web - commercially.

“Why am I not no.1 in Google?”
John Ring, Search Engine Marketing Specialists - www.RingJohn.com

This presentation will tell you “how to be No. 1 on Google” and why No. 1 is not the same for everyone.
John Ring talks about current search engine marketing trends and what companies and agencies need to do now to stay ahead of the pack.

“How Barack Obama used the web to win the White House. And how you can use the web to win too.”
Nualan O’Brien, Online Marketing and Writing Specialists - www.TheWordClinic.com

Barack Obama's victory to become President of the USA is widely considered to be "the first election to be won on the internet". But how exactly did Obama use the internet and web 2.0 to win the prize? As well as answering this question, Nualan O’Brien will show you that - whatever your goal –whether you wish to be a market leader in your field, sell sods of Irish turf or lease corporate jets that a simple but strategic approach can help you use the web to win too. Yes you can!

The WordClinic.com specialise in (i) online strategy development and (ii) online marketing and writing.
