International payments firm signs five year global deal
Payments firm Realex Payments today announced that it has signed a five year deal with Virgin Atlantic.
The company has been chosen to provide a complete payment solution for Virgin Atlantic customers worldwide. This solution comprises payment processing, fraud management, consolidated reporting and currency management amongst other elements.
Allan Wallace, Head of card acceptance, Virgin Atlantic said: “We were looking for a payments partner that could provide the flexibility needed to address all of our customer’s requirements.”
Realex Payments will process multiple payment types into a variety of international banks. The service is now live and being rolled out across each of the airlines regional sites.
Allan Wallace continued “We wanted to work with the next generation of payment provider to reach an even higher value level with added services and flexibility.”

Virgin Atlantic currently flies to 30 destinations worldwide. The airline carried nearly six million passengers last year and has 38 aircraft in its modern fleet. Realex Payments processes in excess of €6Bn in payments on behalf of its 3,000 merchants across Europe.
Realex Payments was founded in 2000 by entrepreneur Colm Lyon and now operates out of Dublin, London and Paris. The Company is continuing with plans to scale and is looking to expand it’s service offering into new regions.
