Membership Criteria
Membership of the Irish Internet Association is open only to incorporated businesses and legally constituted organisations. Individual membership is intended for sole traders, micro-traders and start-ups. People partake in the Association via their company's membership.
Membership application is open to any company that meets the following criteria and is subject to approval by the Board. Eligible applicants must meet the following criteria:
- The organisation has been in business (trading) for at least 6 months.
- The organisation is a registered business or organisation (may be non-profit).
- The organisation has at least one email address.
- Your organisation can show involvement/commitment to using the Internet for the purposes of conducting business and/or promoting the business or organisation.
- Alternatively, or in addition, you must show that you are involved in a professional capacity in Internet (related) technology, products or service creation and delivery. (It is not necessary to have a website.)
Each membership application is processed by the Membership committee and a decision is arrived at by the Board of the IIA. Special cases will be considered by the Board. Decisions are final, but unsuccessful applicants may reapply after a period of 6 months.
PLEASE NOTE:
Once you have submitted your application, you will be sent an email acknowledging receipt, and you will be supplied shortly afterwards with a pro-forma invoice regardless of your chosen payment method. Please contact accounts@iia.ie directly if there is any issue with this invoice.
Immediately upon application you will begin receiving the IIA Digital Digest ezine, IIA Events Alerts and other occasional member only communications. A Company Profile Page will be created based on the information in your application on the IIA website site, and access will be granted to the Members Area of the IIA website with IIA position papers and presentations.
However if payment is not received within three months of your membership will be deactivated.
