IIA Physical Infrastructure Working Group

Aim

To influence the development of a global class physical internet infrastructure for Ireland.

How Will This Be Achieved

By lobby, pressurising and educating business and Government. This work will include the development of a position paper on broadband for the IIA board and this will be the first task of the group.

The Irish Internet Association's Physical Infrastructure Working Group have published their response to the Minister's Consultation on Next Generation Broadband (PDF, 105K)

Membership

Primarily for businesses who own or manage significant elements of the physical infrastructure. A small number of places are being kept reserved for informed individuals with strong experience of working in this area.

Representatives from the following businesses or organisations are represented in the working group:

The Group will meet 2 to 3 times a year and will primarily work using basecamphq - an online collaboration tool from 37signals.com. The number of members will be kept to 15 maximum and if required the working group will be split into subgroups to work on specific tasks.
